Key Tax Filing Deadlines You Must Know
Staying compliant with Pakistan's tax regulations requires careful attention to filing deadlines. Missing these dates can result in penalties, additional taxes, and unnecessary stress.
Income Tax Return Deadlines
For salaried individuals, the deadline for filing income tax returns is typically September 30th of each year. However, business individuals and associations of persons (AOPs) must file by the same date unless an extension is granted by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Sales Tax Returns
Monthly sales tax returns must be filed by the 18th of the following month. Late filing attracts a penalty of PKR 5,000 or 0.1% of the tax payable, whichever is higher.
Withholding Tax Statements
Withholding agents are required to file monthly withholding tax statements by the 15th of the following month. Annual withholding statements must be filed by July 31st.
